Question |
Why do we sell the standards and other products? |
|
Answer |
The IASC Foundation is a charitable organisation. We sell the standards and other IFRS products to offset the costs of the standard-setting activities. Sales of the IASC Foundation’s official documents provide a limited portion (20%) of the total cost of standard-setting. Consequently the IASC Foundation is dependent upon contributions from public and private sources.
Despite the need to ensure funding, the Trustees have taken steps to make the standards more accessible. When a country adopts IFRSs, we waive our copyright to the standards in that country. However, this waiver does not extend to other material that accompanies the standards, for example the Basis for Conclusions, Illustrative Examples and Implementation Guidance.
On behalf of the countries adopting IFRSs, we thank you for your custom.

|
Answer |
No. At present it is not possible to renew an existing subscription online through the IASB Website.
To renew your subscription please complete the renewal invoice you have been sent and return it to IASC Foundation Publications Department with your payment by fax or by post. Your online access to Web-based services will continue with your existing email address and password unless we have advised you otherwise, as long as we have received your renewal request and payment. If you have not received the renewal request by two months before your subscription is due to expire, this may be because the address details we hold for you in our records are incorrect – please contact IASCF Publications to notify any changes in details.
We hope to offer online subscription renewals at some point in the future.
