IASC Foundation Education
21st Jul 2006 The International Accounting Standards Committee (IASC) Foundation today announced the IASC Foundation Education logo. The logo has been developed to make it easier for the general public to distinguish the education materials produced by the IASC Foundation from the official pronouncements of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). Using the new logo will therefore meet the concern expressed in some quarters that IASC Foundation education materials could, in error, be mistaken for an official IASB-endorsed interpretation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs).
Three IFRIC members appointed
5th Jul 2006 The Trustees of the International Accounting Standards Committee (IASC) Foundation today announced the appointment of three members of the International Financial Reporting Interpretations Committee (IFRIC). The new members are: (i) Sara York Kenny, Principal Accounting Advisor to the International Finance Corporation, World Bank Group; (ii) Takatsugu Ochi, General Manager of Planning and Administration Department, Financial Resources Management Group, Sumitomo Corporation, Japan; and (iii) Ruth Picker, Partner, Technical Consulting Group, Ernst & Young, Australia.
Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa named Italian Finance Minister, stepping down as Trustees’ Chairman
22nd May 2006 Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa announced today that he is stepping down from the position of Chairman of the Trustees of the International Accounting Standards Committee (IASC) Foundation as a result of his appointment as Finance Minister of the new Italian Government. The Trustees will now initiate a search process for a permanent successor to Mr Padoa Schioppa.
Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa, Chairman of the International Accounting Standards Committee (IASC) Foundation, announced today the appointment of Alicja Kornasiewicz as a Trustee of the IASC Foundation.
Trustees publish IASB’s Due Process Handbook
19th Apr 2006 Trustees of the International Accounting Standards Committee (IASC) Foundation today published Due Process Handbook for the IASB. The Due Process Handbook describes the IASB’s consultative arrangements. The procedures require that all decisions are made in public meetings and that proposals receive appropriate public scrutiny.
